Plastics In The Urban CoastKelly JonesOld Dominion University Plastic in the urban coast is a dangerous decision that humanity is not monitoring. Determining the amount of plastic in the coastal zone, specifically in urban areas is critical for understanding the potential flows of marine debris and the potential risk of the urban coast to the marine biosphere. Modeling the system of the urban coast is necessary for understanding the stocks and flows of plastic in the urban built environment. However, the databases are not available for understanding the detailed flows of plastic within the urban coast. Therefore, the estimations of plastics are established through numerous assumptions about where the plastics could be, rather than where the plastic is. Type of contribution: Presentation. |
